You may have noticed that there is very little on our website at the moment. Let me explain… In 2020, we had an issue with our website hosting provider. Then while we were setting up our new site, all of a sudden we lost the ability to see our old website! Luckily we had downloaded all of the information but this now needs checking, links need repairing, out-of-date information needs deleting and new information needs to be added. Our webmaster currently works full time and is trying to do this in her spare time (as well as bringing up a family). So, unfortunately things are slow. Please be patient with us while we go through this transition between sites. If you have any issues on our website, whether you are a member or not, please email our webmaster, firstname.lastname@example.org so that she can help resolve your issues. Thank you.
FROST, FREEZES AND FAIRS – an evening with weatherman, Ian Currie on 14 September. What a wonderful presentation this was! Ian drew on records as far back as the 1500s to delight his audience with details of weather that affected our ancestors and particularly what they did on the great frozen rivers. It was a presentation relevant to everyone’s family history and most enjoyable.
Next time, on 12 October we have Getting Started with Your Family History Research. Chris Broom, genealogist and tutor, will guide us through getting started and also on maintaining good habits when researching and recording our family history. There is always something new to learn! Brush up on your skills!
Why not join us and learn more about it. Members will receive a Zoom link for the evening and non-members can join via Eventbrite; details on how to do so will be pinned at
