1918 death reported in the Tamworth Herald 11th May by a letter from Lieut-Colonel D L Maxwell, short quote “I simply must write to my best boy’s people to tell them how much he was loved by us all. He was known to us all as Capt. Bob or Capt. Robert. He died young, but he lived a very full life and has left a wonderful memory and example behind him.”
