NNWFHS Meetings & Events

They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.

At the Society's 2008 AGM held on 11th November, it was suggested that we should begin a project about our local war memorials and about the men who are commemorated on them. We adding transcriptions of all the names on all of the war memorials in the North Warwickshire area and build a seperate page for each man and woman we find. Originally it was intended that these pages would only be available to members but it was later decided to make everything we found during the research available for all to see and create a permanant memorial for them all.

In the left Menu you will find collapsable (+ to open & - to collapse), alphabetical, menus listing all the War Memorials we have transcribed. There is also a searchable index of all war memorials. If you  have already transcribed any of the memorials and you would like your work to be displayed on the website please contact the War Memorials project co-ordinator. The work must be your own transcription not a copy of someone else's work.

We are also interested to receive your stories about the men commemorated for inclusion in the Journal or on the website. All transcriptions displayed are for the use of members' personal research only and are subject to copyright (the copyright is owned by the original transcriber) and must not be reproduced elsewhere on the internet or in published form without written permission of the copyright holder.

Life Stories

We have a growing collection of articles written about the men who were killed in action which can be found in the Articles section. Please note that these are for members only and will only be visible on the article list if you are logged in to the webiste.   If you would like to submit a story about one of your relatives for publication on this website, please contact Celia Parton, the War Memorials project co-ordinator.
