To the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of Major George Stopford Adams 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers Son of Lt General Cadwallader Adams C.B He served in the South African War 1901-2 In Gallipoli on 25th April 1915 He landed on Beach W Lancashire Landing and was Killed in Action 11th May 1915 aged 42 A tribute from the Colonel in Chief of his Regt "I know that in his case the V.C. was throughly deserved" |
