Advice to Soldiers

Post by ChristopherD » Wed Jan 27, 2021 7:24 am

Good Morning All,

I hope everyone is keeping well.

I have recently been contacted by a fellow DALLISON through the Guild of One-Name Studies - he has been sharing various documents he has "found in a box". The attached he has no knowledge of at all. Looking at the condition of the paper it looks as if has some age.

Has anyone seen anything similar. When you read it. Mmm. Is it a "spoof"?

Any thoughts?

Hi Christopher
What a strange article! It looks as though it was written in Italy, but the tongue in cheek nature suggests it was written by a Brit. I suspect it was written either by POWs held in Italy, looking forward to a return to Blighty, or troops stationed there. I guess it was written towards the end of WW2, or shortly thereafter.
I'm interested if anyone else has any idea.
