The way the men are named on the Nether Whitacre memorial is unusually detailed. Normally memorials show the first name (or sometimes just an initial) and the surname. Sometimes they show a regiment or unit in which the man served.

The Nether Whitacre WWI memorial is just outside the church. The WWII Nether Whitacre memorial is situated inside the church. The WWI inscription reads as follows:
This cross was erected in the year 1920 to the glory of God and in grateful and loving memory of those men of Nether Whitacre whose names are engraved there on who gave their lives for their country
in the Great War 1914-1919. They died that we might live.
