    In January of 1915, Arthur was one of four men from the same Peksisko Polo team who travelled to High River, Canada where they caught the train to Calgary where they enlisted. They then returned to town and soon after, they were shipped off to England and warfare. All four men can be seen in the photograph above – only Jackson Snowden survived the war. 2nd Lt Shakerley was killed in the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
