This man’s name is inscribed on the Austrey Roll of Honour. Although he was not a casualty of WWI, he obviously did serve his country. The limited information we have on this man is below.

• Born 1889 Richmond, Surrey
• Served in the Royal Navy 1908-1909. Discharged “no longer of use to the RN”.
• Served in the Royal Army Medical Corp in 1914.
• His brother died in Flanders in 1917.
• Sydney died in Atherstone in 1960
