The relatives of Lt Woodrow commissioned a memorial to him made from an original four-blade propeller. This is situated in the nave at St Nicholas Church. It is inscribed:

Summary of Flying Accident
23/09/1916 Sopwith 1½ Strutter, serial 7772, of 54 Squadron dived to the ground in the Wishaw area, possibly because the pilot was ill. A police constable who saw the accident said the machine seemed to nose-dive from the clouds. The coroner expressed the opinion that the deceased was seized with a fainting fit which caused him to lose consciousness. A verdict of’ Accidental Death was recorded.
