Died 24th June 1917 in France, of gas poisoning, age 24
Pte. Joseph William Austin enlisted 1st November 1914. was in “D” Company of 4th Battalion then transferred to 5th Bn. Wounded in head and wrist – then typhoid and pneumonia. Died from gas poisoning at Bruary, Nr Bethune, France 24th June 1917 age 24. P.C.

Private Austin is shown on the Memorial Plaque in the Trinity Church, Coleshill Road.
