1911 Census, living at Home Farm, Hints, Tamworth with the Dawson family, employed by them as a shepperd

Arrived in Australia on 19th June 1912, age 18, aboard SS Kaikoura – the New Zealand Shipping Company. Listed as a ‘farm worker’

In the Tamworth Herald, 3rd June 1916:

In loving memory of Arthur A. Lacey, the beloved son of Albert and Elizabeth Lacey of Glascote, who died at Malta, May 31, 1915, from wounds recieved in the Dardanelles.

“Sick, dying in a foreign land.

No father by to take his hand,

No mother near to close his eyes,

Far from his native land he lies.”

“Rest in peace.”

“LACEY – In loving memory of Rifleman Albert Thomas Lacey, K.R.R., dearly beloved son of Albert and Elizabeth Lacey, of Glascote, killed in action at the Battle of Arras, April 9 1917, age 31 years; also of Athur, who died at Malta from wounds received in the Dardanelles and interred at Pieta Cemetery, Malta.. May 31, 1915 aged 21 years. “Rest in Peace.” – From mother, father, sisters and brothers. Glascote and Kettlebrook.”
