On the Monks Kirby and Stretton memorial, there are thirteen men from Monks Kirby and four from Stretton who died in WWI. In WWII, three men came from Monks Kirby and two from Stretton.
The inscription on the war memorial of Monks Kirby and Stretton-under-Fosse reads as follows:
In honoured memory of those from Monks Kirby and Stretton-under-Fosse who died in the Great War 1914-1918 that Britain might remain free.
Pailton is considered part of Monks Kirby and there were fourteen men commemorated on the Pailton memorial who died in WWI and one who died in WWII. The inscription reads as follows:
To the Glory of God and in loving memory of the Brave Lads of Pailton who gave their lives for our country in the Great War 1914-1918.
Needs photos and Excel sheet though at present I do not seem to have names for Pailton.
